May Haul 2016 (Makeup)

Hey guys! I can't believe it's already the end of the month! May just flew by! It was probably my busiest month, but May didn't only consist of me working all the time. I spent a lot of time with my friends and family! I had an event every week, so it was tons of fun! If you want to get to know me and see what I'm up to, you can always follow me on Instagram @divya_patelxo. I post my personal life on there too, it's not just about makeup! So ya, May was lots of fun! I actually didn't buy a lot of makeup. I actually bought a camera, which was SUPER expensive! I was debating to spend that much, but honestly, it takes amazing pictures! Like for makeup, it's amazing! I haven't had time to take too many pictures, but I'm definitely starting to create makeup looks! Which gives you another reason to follow me on Instagram! But ya, let's get into this small haul! It's nothing big, but I've been loving the products that I picked up!

A few goodies from my May Haul

I picked up two products from the MAC Chris Chang collection! Wow! This collection has such beautiful packaging! It's so unique and different! This is definitely one of the best packaging! I picked up a lipstick in the shade Plum Princess. I wasn't too impressed with the shade range for the lipsticks. They were way too light and I just didn't see myself wearing those light pastel colors. Plum Princess is the only shade that would have suited my skin (in my opinion). It's a light-medium cool tone pastel purple. It has a bit of grey undertones to it, like it's a really unique purple! I still haven't tried it on, but I been loving purples lately, so hopefully this will look good on me! Next, I purchased the Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder. Of course, I fell in love with the compact, so that's why I had to get it. I actually don't own a lot of transparent pressed powders, so I was like why not? I've used the powder a few times. I think it's a great product to throw in your purse! It's good for touch ups when you get oily. I just don't think it's the best powder to set your under eyes with. It's smooth and all, but it feels a little chalky. I'm not obsessed with it, but I don't hate it. It mattifies my face, so that's all that matters to me! Lastly from MAC, I picked up the Lion Babe Liquidlast Liner. I believe this is limited edition. I just randomly saw this. It's a coppery gold liquid liner. It has a metallic finish! I still haven't used this, but I've been into metallic/glitter liners, so I know I'll love it.

Gorgeous packaging!

So excited to use this!

I only picked up a few things at Sephora! I got the new Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks in the shades Ashton and Madison. I've been seeing these shades all over Instagram and they just look so stunning! Ashton is a brown with yellow undertones and Madison is a bright fuchsia! I love both these shades. Ashton is a really nice everyday color and Madison is perfect for the summer! I already mentioned this on my blog, but ABH makes one of the best liquid lipstick formulas! That's why I just want to get all the shades! Next, I FINALLY purchased the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops in G60. I've been eyeing this product for the longest time, but I just couldn't justify the price! I was also happy with my foundations, so I always put it to the side. However, I just wanted to try a new foundation. I finished a few foundations, so I just wanted to get something new. My local Sephora finally carries Cover FX in store, so I just went for it! The lightning in Sephora is off, so I did have to exchange the shade. I'm G60, which is a bit dark for me, so I hope I do get tanned this summer. But guys, this product is EVERYTHING! It's so full coverage, but doesn't feel cakey. It feels like your skin and leaves your face looking like velvet! It's really nice and I've been obsessed with it! I been mixing the custom drops with my L'Oreal Infallible foundation and legit, it's the best thing in the world! The color matches me perfectly and leaves my skin feeling so flawless! Like, I'm done! It's expensive, so that's why I do prefer my Infallible on it's own. However, when I have events, I just have to use these drops!

I had to pick these shades up!

This is a must have!

Lastly, I made a quick trip to Walmart. I actually went to Walmart to pick up the Wet n Wild highlighters, but my local Walmart didn't have them (tragic). So, I just picked up the NYC Liquid Liner. Mine just disappeared, so I had to get a new one. This is the best drugstore eyeliner hands down! It's so inexpensive! It's so easy to use and super long wearing! It's also the blackest black in the market! Like, you're missing out if you never tried this! Then, I picked up the L'Oréal Infallible Foundation in Caramel Beige. These are cheaper at Walmart, so I was like why not? I bought this for my kit, since I was lacking in the tan shades!

Speaking of the L'Oréal Infallible foundations, my friend went to the L'Oréal sale and picked up 2 foundations for me. They didn't have a lot of shades, but luckily, there was Fresh Beige (my shade)! I was so happy! Thank you Dana! If you live in Montreal, honestly sometimes the sale has really nice stuff, so it's worth going to! It's obviously better to go during the first few days, because towards the end, they don't have much inventory left! I used to love going to these, but I just hate waiting in line and there's way too many people. I honestly can't, but if you have the patience, you definitely need to go!

Some of my favorite drugstore products!

That concludes my haul! It's super small! Like I said, I bought a  camera, so I had to be good! There's a lot of new makeup coming out, so maybe I'll splurge in June (we'll see). There's also a lot of indie Instagram brands that I been wanting to try out! So, let me know which is your favorite Indie brand! I'll be posting my monthly favorites soon! So, look out for that! If you guys have any topics or products that you want me to talk about, kindly leave me a message! Hope you have a great week!

Freelance Makeup Artist Tips- Part 1: Where to begin

Hey guys! I been getting a lot of questions about freelancing lately, so I decided why not talk about it here on my blog. I know it's hard to get started and a lot of you may be interested, but just don't know where to start. So, I wanted to talk about that and share with you guys what I did in order to start freelancing. I just started, so I know I have a lot to learn. I'm still building my portfolio and my brand. It's definitely something that takes time, but it's better to start now than later! So ya, let's get into it!

That's me lol

Makeup is a really competitive market. There's just so many people in this industry now! You have to think outside of the box to make it big! I know a lot of people that are makeup artists that struggle. The reason they struggle is because they're not motivated or passionate about it. You can make a lot of money from freelancing, but honestly if you're doing it just for money, it may be a rough path for you. When you're passionate, honestly, you're going to put in all your effort and you'll keep yourself motivated! You'll constantly be working at it until you reach your goals! I faced several bumps already and honestly, I just kept at it and that's why I got through those obstacles! So ya, be sure you're passionate or at least interested in makeup!

My first bride!

Next, you want to have some kind of knowledge about makeup. A good platform would be going to makeup school. Even if makeup schools don't always teach you what's trending and all, you'll learn the basics! If you have no experience with makeup, it's best to attend school! Let's say you're like myself and you just don't have time or it just can't fit into your schedule right now, then you can teach it yourself! But, you'll be spending a lot of your free time on it! I've started by watching Youtube videos. That's how I got interested in makeup and decided that I wanted to make a career out of it. I was following several beauty gurus and makeup artists! Some of my favorite Youtubers are Desi Perkins, Lustrelux (Katie), Huda Kattan (Huda Beauty), Makeup by Shayla, Carli Bybel, Jaclyn Hill and Patrick Star. There's for sure more people that I follow, but I always watch their videos and I find they help A LOT! They don't just teach you how to apply makeup, but I also love how they talk about their favorite products. They also do different looks and step out of their comfort zone, which is something that intrigues me. I also follow them and a lot of other makeup artists on Snapchat. A lot of times they talk about products on there. They even do quick makeup looks, so definitely get Snapchat if you guys don't already have it! Also, Instagram is big! I'm going to talk about Instagram later on, but those quick videos are so handy! I love watching them to give me some inspiration! So ya, watch Youtube and stay active on social media to see what's trending or to get inspiration! Also, I recommend that you guys follow several makeup artists and gurus, because you'll be working with a lot of different skin tones and textures! You want to have a bit of knowledge about every skin tone and texture out there, so that there's no surprises when you start freelancing!

My most recent bride!

Even though, Youtube has almost everything, the one thing that helped me the most was taking Master Classes online! I did Dress Your Face's (Tamanna) online classes and OMG! She's honestly so talented and amazing! Like, her classes aren't that expensive and you learn A LOT! She goes step by step! She covers every technique and product! Her videos are normally an hour long, because it's so detailed! She works with different skin tones and textures. She always does different looks, like her classes are amazing! Even when I felt like I knew everything, her classes helped me improve my skills! Tamanna isn't the only one that does master classes, there's even Lilit, Patrick Star, Karen and Shayla that do it! Some of them also have online certification so that you can start to get discounts with many brands and retailers! I definitely want to do Tamanna's online certification, so I'm patiently waiting for that! You guys may be wondering what's the difference between youtube videos and these online classes. The online classes are a lot longer than Youtube videos and they're in so much more detail! Like they cover every single detail! Tammana also has a Q&A, so if you watch the class live, you can ask her questions at the end of class! Youtube is a great platform, but I suggest taking these master classes as well! It'll help you expand on your knowledge!

Here is one of Tamanna's work! Her double cut crease is just out of this world! She's so talented! (picture from her Instagram) +DressYourFace

Another good platform is working at a Beauty store! Whether it's Sephora or any cosmetics counter, it's for sure going to help you learn about cosmetics. It's a great way for you to try new beauty products and keep up with what's trending. It's a great way for you to interact with people and build a relationship. That way, when  you start freelancing, they can be your customers as well! It's really important to have an outgoing personality and interact with customers! If you leave a good image of yourself, they'll always come back! Also, the perks of working at a beauty store is that you can get free products and discounts! This will help you build your kit! You can even just start off at the cash and slowly move up to doing makeup and so on. So, it's definitely a smart idea  to work at a beauty store! I actually haven't worked at a cosmetics store, but I wish I did! I wish I applied at Sephora when I didn't have so many responsibilities! I find it an amazing platform! You always learn a lot at work!

After you gained knowledge, you have to PRACTICE! Now, this is the most important part! You can go to school, but if you don't practice like forget it! Especially since makeup is a practical thing, you're going to have to spend months and months on this! I actually spent over  a year practicing! I offered to do people's makeup for free (this was mostly my friends and family) and I let them evaluate my work. I know a lot of people don't like getting feedback, but honestly, whether it's good or bad, it's going to help you! I mostly got positive feedback, but I was open to the negative ones too. I know I'm not perfect and I rather someone tell me what I'm doing wrong or what I can improve on! So ya, I was practicing for over a year and I didn't make much money from it, but I was improving my skills. I also took pictures of my work for my portfolio! This helped me have content for my website and my social media! You may be wondering, how long do you have to practice? Honestly, it depends on you. I took a year, because I'm a perfectionist. I wanted to feel comfortable when I did makeup and I wanted to learn all the tips and tricks. We all work at our own pace, so just make sure that before you start marketing yourself, you're comfortable and you know what you're doing! Also, don't do makeup on the same friend or family member. Everyone is different, so you're going to be dealing with different skin tones and textures! You want to practice on as many different people as possible! Also, when you do eyeshadow, remember that everyone has different eyes! The makeup you do on someone with a defined crease is different from someone that has a monolid! So, try to get as many different faces as you can! When you officially start, you don't want any surprises!

Here's a bridal trial

Another thing, the main thing that a lot of people skip on or don't pay attention to is being sanitary. Guys, this is so important! You want to make sure that you get educated on this and that you practice to be sanitary! You're working on faces and the last thing you want is to be unsanitary. Be sure that you learn the procedures to safely apply foundations, cream products and so on without contaminating anything! Make sure you wash your brushes after every client! Make sure that you keep sanitizer on you at all times! Like, this part is big! That's why take a few classes if you can or learn from a makeup artist, so that you see how they apply makeup! I'm sure you can even just google this, but be sure to look into health and safety! Lastly, don't forget to be hygienic! This may be common sense, but make sure you take a shower and your breath isn't stinky! I know when you freelance, your schedule may get crazy, but always stay clean! I always keep gum and mouth wash on me at all times! Also, don't wear perfume that's too strong! You may like it, but some people may not, so stick to fresh scents! When you're practicing on your friends and relatives, just keep these things in mind, so that these things can turn into a habit!

There's probably other great platforms that can help you start freelancing, but I think these are the main ones! I think it's best to start off slowly and build yourself! The first step is to get educated on makeup and learn the techniques! This will for sure require you to take some kind of class. It may be expensive, but education is always worth it in the end! You can even just ask a beauty lover in your life to help you learn about makeup! There's endless possibilities and options! The key is not to give up and work to your full potential! I'm not going to lie, I had my bumps in the road! There were so many times that I just wanted to give up. I was hard on myself and it just can be so stressful! However, if this is what you're passionate about and you're willing to work your bum off, it's going to pay off! It may take time, but don't give up! Don't compare yourself to other artists, just do you! The only person you should be better than, is the person that you were yesterday! So, don't worry how advanced other makeup artists may be, just work at your pace! Also, don't worry about what other people have to say! Like, I taught myself makeup and some people think it's not "professional", but honestly, I'm getting my stuff together. I have plans to grow my business and as long as I'm advancing in this, that's all that matters to me. If people want to doubt you, let them. Just work on yourself and forget the negativity! Life is too short to be doubting yourself! So ya, that's my little pet talk there. I hope you guys found this post useful! I just wanted to share my tips with you. As you can see by the title, this is just part 1, there will be other stuff that I'll be adding on later!

Rodan+Fields Enhancements: Micro-Dermabrasion Paste Review

Hey guys, so I wanted to talk to you a little bit about Rodan+Fields. I actually met Karen through Glambassador. She had a posting for her company to review her products, so I applied for it and luckily, she chose me! We been exchanging messages since on Glambassador and I got to learn a lot about her company! So before I start talking about Rodan+Fields, I'm sure you're wondering, "What is Glambassador?" Basically, Glambassador is a site that helps bloggers( or influencers) and brands network together. As a blogger/influencer, you're looking for a job, which are the postings that companies post. Every company is looking for something different, some are looking for people to be affiliates for them, while others may be looking for people to review or try out their products. It really depends on the company! In my case, I was asked to review the products, which is perfect for me as a blogger, because that's what I do on here. It's not only for beauty bloggers or influencers, there's things for people interested in fitness, health, fashion, jewelry and a lot more! So, if you're a blogger or influencer, this may be a great site for you to join! You'll discover a lot of new companies and meet other bloggers/influencers! Especially, if you're new to the whole blogging thing, this is a great way for you to interact directly with brands! A lot of companies on there are also fairly new or  looking to grow. So ya, check out Glambassador! I'm really liking the site so far!

Rodan+Fields samples that I received to test out!

I wanted to give you guys a little background and information on Rodan+Fields. Before Glambassador, I've never heard of this skincare line before, but I became really interested in this brand. This brand is renowned by 2 dermatologists; Dr Katie Rodan and Dr Kathy. It's a skincare brand built on dermatology-based skincare products backed by clinically proven results. They cover a lot of common skin concerns that people with any age deal with. If you check out their website: www.karenfaryna.myrandf.biz/ca/, you will see all the skincare products that they carry. They have products to Redefine, Reverse, Unblemish, Soothe and Enhancements. You may be wondering, there's a lot of skincare brands out there. What makes Rodan+Fields different? Well, as I was going through their website, I came across this little paragraph that really got me interested in their products and it answers this question:
"Rodan + Fields products are based on Stanford-trained dermatologists’, Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields, philosophy of Multi-Med® Therapy. This regimen-based approach to treating common skin concerns combines over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical and active cosmetic ingredients in the right combination with optimized, elegant formulations to deliver clinically proven results, without a visit to the dermatologist’s office. All regimens undergo third party clinical tests to ensure safety and efficacy. Our products are backed by a 60-day money back guarantee"
The fact that it's two dermatologists that own this company is  an amazing thing, because they know exactly what a consumer is looking for and how to treat their concerns! This company also has a 60 day guarantee, which is amazing! They were also featured in Allure, Essence, Bazaar and a whole bunch of stuff! They're also the #1 Premium Anti Aging Brand in the U.S. They have a lot going for them and I was really excited to receive the samples from Karen (who is a independent consultant) . They have a lot of products, but I received only the Micro Dermabrasion Paste and the anti aging serum. If you're interested in this brand, click on the link above. The website is very informative! It's in great detail and it tells you exactly what each product is meant to do! You can even buy bundles to save money! Right now, they only ship to the United States and Canada. If you have any questions, I would suggest contacting Karen. You can find her on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/randfkarenfaryna/! or you can call or text her at 604-644-3083. She's also on Instagram @skincare_lady22. She features amazing before and after pictures with the results of the Rodan+Fields products!

Here is a picture of Karen!

Ranked #1!

Let's get into the samples that I received from Karen. She sent me samples that are 3 weeks worth (even more than that), which is perfect, because I love to test out the product as much as I can before reviewing it. As mentioned, I received the Micro-Dermabrasion Paste and the anti aging serum. The Micro Dermabrasion Paste is to promote gentle exfoliation. You can use it intermittently to enhance cell turnover and improve skin tone and texture. It contains vitamin C and E. It also smooths any rough spots on your face. It's a white paste with beads. It's a sugar and salt scrub. I like the texture of it, it doesn't feel rough, even though it has the beads in it. It glides on the skin smoothly and it doesn't feel oily. This product retails for $90CAD. If you guys just want to try this out and not dedicate to the full size, they also have the paste packets for sell (the same exact thing that I received!). It's $49CAD. It gives you a chance to just test it out! The anti aging serum comes in these blue and silver capsules. They look tiny, but one capsule is supposed to cover your whole face! The serum feels really moisturizing! It creates this luminous look, but it doesn't feel oily.

The packaging of the Micro Dermabrasion (picture taken from their website!)

These products are really easy to use! The paste is meant to use at night. So, once you remove your makeup and you used a cleanser, you can apply the paste. Without water, you massage the paste all over your face for 60 seconds. I like to use circular motions to really get the scrub working into my skin. This is optional, but next, I let the scrub sit on my face for 2 minutes. Then, you rinse off the paste. You pat dry your face and then, you apply the small blue capsule of the anti aging serum. That's it! It really doesn't take long to do! It's the perfect mini facial before bedtime!

Now, let's talk about my thoughts on these products. I find the Micro Dermabrasion Paste is a really nice product! It gently exfoliated my skin and it left my skin feeling super smooth! I love how the product wasn't harsh on my skin and after I wash off the product, I love how polished my skin looked!  It also looked a lot healthier! In terms of  improving my skin tone and texture, I did see a difference, but it was after 2 weeks of use (I used it 3 times a week!). So, it definitely does work, but you have to use it a few times to really notice it! Sometimes exfoliaters leave my skin feeling dry, but this wasn't the case at all! Overall, I really do like it! It's a bit pricey, but honestly you see the results! It's a good investment!

Now for the anti aging serum. I love how the serum doesn't leave your face feeling oily. It also feels really hydrating on the skin! I find this product also helped my skin look a lot more healthier and radiant! It just feels so nice on the skin! In terms of anti aging, I'm only 24 years old, so it's definitely not the product for me. Even though, I love the way that the serum felt, I didn't see a anti aging effect, because I'm still young. However, if you have mature skin, this may be a really nice product for you to try! Even though I don't have mature skin, it did leave my skin feeling and looking a lot healthier!

Overall, I'm really impressed with this brand! Their products are at a top quality, which is always a good thing with skincare products! They cover so many skin concerns, so definitely go check out the website! You guys can also contact Karen, whose really knowledgeable on the products and will give you great advice!  I hope you guys enjoyed this review! I'm always open to trying new brands and products! So ya, if you have recommendations for my next post, let me know :)

April Favorites 2016

Hey guys! I decided to do monthly favorites now, since I've been requested to do them. I originally wanted to do them before, but I just didn't want to be so repetitive on my blog. Once I fall in love with a product, I just use it all the time! So, that's why I never did them before. But, I decided that the months that I don't use the same products over and over again, I could do a monthly favorites! That way I can talk about new or different products and it won't be boring for you guys! I just wanted to say that I'm working on my holy grail products post, so I won't be mentioning any of my holy grail products in my monthly favorites (ever)! When I say holy grail, they're legit products that I use ALL the time, so I don't want to be repeating myself. So ya, I hope you guys like these monthly favorites that I'll be doing from now on!

A few of my April Favorites!

The first product that I wanted to mention in my monthly favorites is this Tangle Teezer. I was watching Jaclyn Hill's favorites video and she was raving about it. So, I obviously had to buy it. My hair gets a lot of knots and tangles out of nowhere. Sometimes it's really difficult and painful to brush my hair! Jaclyn said that this is so gentle and it gets rid of all the knots! Since, it was the VIB sale, I was like why not? Honestly, this stuff is amazing! I get a lot of knots in the back and this thing gets rid of them without it being painful! It just leaves my hair so smooth! I'm actually obsessed! I always use this to brush my hair now and it's honestly amazing! It makes brushing your hair so easy, like I wasn't expecting to love it as much as  I do!

The Tangle Teezer!

The next product that I want to mention is the Glamglow Gravitymud Firming Treatment. Everyone raves about this product and I just didn't want to fall into the hype for no reason, so I just always pushed it away. It's also $80CAD, which is why I was always like no. It's too expensive, especially for the amount of product that you get! However, I received a sample of this product and gave it a try to see what the hype was about. In just one use, I became obsessed with this mask! I never used a mask that instantly firmed and toned my skin! It's also a peel off mask, which makes it so easy to take off! My skin just looked so smooth and tight! I just fell in love with it! Yes it's expensive, but you'll love the results! Another mask that I want to mention quickly is the TruSelf Organics Detoxifying Mask. I LOVE this mask! It's affordable and does wonders! This is my 3rd tub! This mask is made of all natural ingredients! It aims to detoxify, minimize pores, wrinkles and blemishes! Even when I grow pimples on my face, I just apply this mask on it. I let it sit for 30-45 minutes and the next morning it starts to shrink! It's that effective! I also use it to deep clean my pores and it works wonderfully for that! It's just the perfect mask! I use it at least once a week to detoxify my face! If I had to do a holy grail for skincare products, both these masks would be in it!

I love both these masks! Worth every penny!

I actually don't own any powder foundations, so I purchased the Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder Foundation (I'm the shade 207) this month and I'm obsessed! This powder foundation is just so convenient for days that you don't want too much. I just use a primer and corrector. Then, I dust this powder on and I'm ready to head out! It's full coverage and it will hide anything! Since it's a powder, you don't have to worry about it creasing or anything! You also don't have to worry about setting it or anything (but for a longer wear, it's best to use the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray!). If you have dry skin, like don't worry, the powder is super smooth and it won't make you dry! The texture of it is really creamy and smooth! It's also long wearing on it's own! I see myself using this a lot this summer!

A must have!

The next product that I want to mention is really expensive. It's the Chanel Correcteur Perfection Concealer (I'm in the shade 30). I've had this concealer for awhile, but I only use it for occasions, since it's super expensive. However, this month I just wanted to finish it, because I had it for like a bit over 2 years. Honestly, I love this concealer, especially for correcting anywhere on my face. It has medium coverage and it blends like a dream. It just looks so perfect on the skin! It legit covers everything and anything! I'm just obsessed with this concealer and I know there's a lot of concealers in the market now, but it's like every time I use this, I just love it! If you have the money to splurge, I recommend this concealer!

A really nice concealer!

In terms of lashes, I have 2 pairs that I've been using throughout the month. The first one is the Wispies by Morphe. These are so inexpensive and can last you a really long time (if you clean them and take great care of them)! I also didn't apply too much mascara on these, so that they last longer. I just find these the perfect pair of lashes for any look! They're not too dramatic. You can wear them for a full glam or a simple look. Honestly, you just can't go wrong with a pair of Wispies! I also been loving the Iconic lashes by House of Lashes. These are the perfect full glam lashes. They're full and long! They just open up my eyes and they're absolutely stunning with any look! I did have to trim off the edges a little, because they were a bit too big, but now they're perfect! If you're looking for lashes with volume and length, but that's not too much, these are perfect! They also last a long time if you take care of them! I've been using them for 6 months and they're in perfect condition!

These have been my favorite for awhile now!

I've been using the NYC liquid liner really often this month! I just been into wings this month and honestly, I forgot how easy it is to create a wing with this liquid liner! I always use my Bobbi Brown Gel Liner, which also gets the work done, but honestly that stuff is expensive. Like, this $5 liquid liner is the best! It's the blackest black in the market and it lasts forever! The applicator is thin (but not too thin), so it makes it super easy to wing out your liner! Like, I can't believe I forgot that I had this! This is legit the best product by NYC and if you guys haven't tried this, I highly recommend it! Another item that I've been loving for awhile now is the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara! I think this is like my 3rd tube now. When it comes to mascara, I find my Rimmel ones are the best! I never used a high end brand that I was crazy about. The brush on this Too Faced mascara though is amazing! It's shaped like a hourglass, so it legit gets every eyelash! It adds so much volume to my lashes and makes them so much longer! Like, I don't even need false lashes when I use this mascara! I've recommended this mascara to so many people and they all love it! Yes, it's pricey, but trust me it's worth every penny! I don't know, I think this just may be my all time favorite mascara! I LOVE the results!

Love these!

For my brows this month,  I've been using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Ebony. I purchased this like 2 years ago, but I switched to the Brow Wiz, since it's a lot easier to use. For some reason, I kind of like the results of the Pomade better now. I think it's because my eyebrows are really messed up right now and I legit have to draw in a whole new brow. I find it easier and quicker with the Pomade. I use it with an angle brush and I don't even need concealer to clean up. I've used this a million times and I still have a ton of product left! It's super long wearing, like I can get away without setting it with a brow powder! It legit doesn't budge! It also has a nice consistency to it! Like if you want a change from the Brow Wiz, I recommend this stuff!

This used to be my favorite brow product!

There should be no surprise that the Tartelette in Bloom is in my monthly favorites! I purchased this during the VIB sale and I've been obsessed with it ever since! It's such a beautiful neutral palette with both warm and cool tones! I see this working with any skin tone! The colors are just stunning! It's pigmented, buttery smooth, long lasting and easily blendable! You can create anything with it! It can be your every day palette or even a full glam palette! I love how this Tartelette palette has shimmery shades! Now, I can legit just use this palette for every look without having to reach for another palette! I already love it more than the original Tartelette and that palette was my favorite all time palette! So, if you been debating about this palette, honestly don't! It's one of the best (in my opinion the best) palette in the market!

I love this palette!

Speaking of eyeshadows, I also wanted to mention the Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadows! I can't believe I only picked them up recently! These are absolutely amazing! I own a few of the ready made limited edition palettes by her and I do like those palettes, but some of the eyeshadows were too powdery. However, that's not the case with her individual eyeshadows! They're buttery smooth, like the Make Up For Ever ones and they're also super pigmented! They blend out really nicely and they're super long wearing! I picked up the shades, Metal, Pink Champagne, Warm Taupe and Comfort. My favorite shade has to be Warm Taupe, it's a gorgeous warm soft brown. I love to use this in the crease, it's not too light or dark, it's perfect! I also love Metal, it's a shimmery titanium silver gold! I love to use this all over the lid or in the inner tear dot! I definitely will be picking up more ABH eyeshadows! I believe for 4 pans and the palette, it's $56CAD. Which is kind of a lot, but it's worth it! Hopefully in the future, they have a 8 pan palette or something, so that you can save more, because she has a gorgeous shade range!

These eyeshadows have been giving me so much life recently!

I've been alternating between a few lip products this month. I just been into nudes for some reason. I just don't find the weather here in Montreal all that nice to be wearing bright lipsticks yet, so I just been all about nudes. The first lip product that I wanted to mention is the Gerard Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Crystal. Crystal is a peachy nude with gold shimmer in it. I absolutely love to use this gloss over any nude to just make it pop! I normally don't like shimmer in my lip gloss, but I love the way this gloss appears on your lips! It's also not sticky and it's not too pigmented, which makes it a good topper. I also love using this lip gloss over nudes that are too light for me! It just gives it enough warmth and pigmentation, so that the lighter shades don't wash me out! I also been enjoying Gerard Cosmetic's Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Iced Mocha. Guys, I've been obsessed with this shade for months now! It's a gorgeous light-medium coffee brown with mauve undertones! This color suits any makeup look! The formula is also amazing! It has a moussey texture, but dries in a decent amount of time. It doesn't budge at all once it dries and it's super long wearing! This has to be one of my favorite liquid lipstick formulas! So ya, if you been debating about the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Mattes, like just get them! They have a beautiful shade range and it's worth every penny! For lip liner, I've been loving the Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner in Nude Medium. This has been my go to lip liner since December! It's just so pigmented and creamy! It's also long wearing and I'm obsessed with this color! It's the perfect medium nude! I've worn this a million times on it's own and I always get asked what's on my lips. The packaging of this is also really convenient! It has a built in sharpener, so that you never have to sharpen it. It does it for you! It's a really cool and unique concept! I definitely want to pick up more colors! Lastly, I've been loving the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Dubai. This is the perfect true brown! It's very similar to the Kylie Jenner liquid lipstick in True Brown K. It's the same medium brown. The formula is amazing. You know I love the Soft Matte Lip Cream line. They're pretty long wearing and glide on your lips like butter! Once it's dry, it doesn't budge and it' super pigmented! It's absolutely stunning and if you been wanting to get True Brown K, just pick up Dubai honestly! It's like less than half the price and the quality is amazing for the price!

I been rotating between these lip products all month!

In terms of highlighters, my go to this month have been the Gerard Cosmetics Star Powders in Marilyn and Audrey. Guys, these are amazing! The powders are so creamy and buttery! They're super pigmented and blend like a dream! They're super long wearing! Like, I have nothing bad to say about these! Audrey is a warm champagne gold and Marilyn is a light gold. I love both of these equally! They're just so beautiful! If you're someone that loves subtle highlighters, these may be too much, but honestly, I love to glow. The packaging is also really nice! I love the gold compact! Gerard Cosmetics always has promotions going on, so be sure to be following them on Instagram! I got these 2 for a good deal!

Love these highlighters! My go to this month!

The last product that I wanted to mention is the Make Up For Ever Instant Brush Cleanser. If you're a makeup artist, this stuff will be your best friend! It's so handy! It spot cleans your brushes without the use of water and it dries within seconds! It's great for when you have a long busy day and you want to clean your brushes in between clients! It gets all the product off! It's just so amazing and so convenient to have! I've used other brush cleansers, but they take time for the brushes to dry, so it's amazing how this is so quick! It's definitely not something you want to use to deep clean your brushes, especially your face brushes. I find with smaller brushes (like eyeshadow brushes), it gets rid of everything, but for face brushes, it gets rid of majority of the product, but not everything. I suggest using this when you're in a rush and still deep clean your brushes weekly. If I had to do a must have for makeup artists, this will definitely be one of the products!

This stuff has been saving me!

That concludes my April Favorites! I'm sorry that this post came late! These products are strictly products that I used in April! Whatever I been using in May will be in my May Favorites, so watch out for that! I hope you found this post useful! I alternate between products quite a bit at times, so it gives you a chance to see what I like. Other than that, I may be doing a post on Summer Necessities, so let me know if that interests you! I wrote something similar to that last year, so I'm debating if I should do it again! So ya, let me know! I hope you guys are having a great week!
